TOUR ITINERARY 1 - Green Triangle 6 Nights/7 Days

After a brief welcome ceremony on arrival at Guwahati drive to city and check into your hotel room. Overnight stay at Guwahati.
After breakfast visit Kamakhya Temple, a Major Hindu Pilgrimage site. During the festival of Ambubashi more than a million devotees throng this holy place. Return to hotel after paying homage to the mother goddess Kamakhya and drive on to famous Kaziranga National park (220 kms 4 hrs drive). Check into a Jungle resort on arrival. In the afternoon visit nearby Tea Estate.. Stay overnight at Kaziranga.
Early morning (5:30 am) explore central Range of Kaziranga National Park on Elephant Safari. On return explore the eastern range on a jeep safari. Return for lunch and proceed to Western Range of Kaziranga National Park on jeep. Stay overnight at Kaziranga.
After an early morning breakfast drive to Shillong (280 kms 6 hrs drive). Have Lunch en-route at Borapani Umiam Lake, a majestic placid lake with its surrounding sylvan hills. Check in at your hotel. In the afternoon visit the local market. Stay Overnight at your hotel in Shillong.
After breakfast drive to Cherrapunjee (60 kms 1and 1/2 hr), the wettest place in the world. The beautiful waterfall-Noh-ka-likai is at Cherrapunjee you can also explore some of the caves in and around Cherrapunjee. Return to Shillong, en-route visit Elephanta falls and Shillong peak for some breathtaking views. Stay overnight at your hotel in Shillong.
Morning sightseeing at Shillong, visit Ward Lake and Hydari Park. Admire the beauty of Shillong, also called Scotland of the East. It is erstwhile capital of undivided Assam and present Northeast and home to the Khasi highland tribes. After lunch drive back to Guwahati (100 kms). In the evening take a cruise on Mighty Brahmaputra River. Stay overnight at your hotel in Guwahati.

Early in the morning, we will drive to Jorhat(207KM), the tea-capital of Assam. On arrival at Jorhat, you will be accommodated in the Thengal Mansion, a historic ancestral house of a Tea Planter amidst an Asssamese village, 15 kms from Jorhat. The 72-year old Thangal Mansion is to answer the queries on Assamese culture and tradition. After lunch and rest, take a walk in a nearby village to see the simplicity of their lives.
Explore Remains of the Ahom Kingdom: After an early breakfast drive to Sibsagar to visit remains of Ahom Kingdom who ruled Assam for 500 years before giving in to British. Visit to Tai Ahom Museum and the Maidams (Mummy like structures) of Ahom kings Burial grounds at Charaideo. Return to Jorhat for Overnight stay.
After breakfast, we will visit Toklai Research Station to know everything and anything about tea-plantation. Having lunch at Jorhat, we will leave for Kaziranga(90KM), the home of the rhino with one horn. Overnight at tourist lodge.

Depart for Kohima after breakfast (225 kms 5 hrs drive). On arrival proceed to Touphema Village Resort (41 kms from Kohima) run by Angami Naga village community. Enjoy cultural presentation by village folks. Stay overnight at Touphema Tourist village.
Explore the village in the morning hours. After breakfast check out of the village resort & drive to Kohima. Visit the WW II Cemetery, nestled in the heart of Kohima town, where one of the fiercest battles was fought. On a huge stone in in-laid bronze the following famous words are there to remind one of undoubting courage displayed by the war heroes in order to preserve the freedom of the future generation.

Also visit State Museum, located at Bayani hill Kohima. It gives you a peep into the various aspects of Naga Culture. It displays dioramas of the lifestyle of the Naga tribes. Artifacts, handlooms, & Handicrafts, Tools & Implements, Gems & Jewelry, Coins & Ancient weaponry will give you an idea of the rich Culture and Heritage of the native people. Proceed to Kepfiizha (Kigwema village) Dimori Cove Guest house after lunch. This small but beautiful place is on the Kohima Imphal Highway, which we use as base for trekking up the Japfu Peak (3048 metre Mt) Japfu, home of the world's tallest rhododendron tree (20 metres high) and also for trekking to Dzukou Valley, the best trekking valley of North-East India. Visit Angami Tribal village of Khonoma, home village of father of Naga Nationalist movement Angami Phizo. This village located on top of a hillock has a pastoral beauty of its own. This was where the Last part of the Anglo Naga War was fought. Return to Kohima for overnight stay.

After a leisurely breakfast drive to Bardoa 'Satra'(140km) (Baishnavite monastery), Birthplace of his holiness 'Shankardeva'. After lunch at Nagaon drive on to Kaziranga(100km). On arrival check into tourist Lodge at Kaziranga National Park. Overnight at Kaziranga
Early morning explore central area of Kaziranga National park on an elephant safari. Ride an Elephant through the park chasing a unicorn rhino along with a wide range of rare species. Early in the morning we will depart for Sivsagar, the ancient capital of ahom kingdom (1699-1788). Taking a brief rest after lunch, visit Ranghar the Capital and military station of Ahom Kings, then we visit the Tolatol Ghar a seven storied building- Four above and Three Below the ground. The other significant archaeological remains in Sivsagar are Shiva Doul, Vishnu Doul and the Tombs of Ahom Kings and Queens in Charaideo Hillock. Overnight stay at Sivsagar.
Drive to Dibrugarh after breakfast.Visit a tea garden and admire the lifestyle of adivasis in the tea estate. You will be accommodated in a host bunglow inside the garden. Evening enjoy the night falling with spring scent. Overnight stay at bunglow in Dibrugarh.
After a leisurely breakfast drive to Digboi, Oldest operating and the second oldest oil field in the world. On arrival you will accommodated in a Bunglow. In the evening drive down through the small hillocks and enjoy the silence in the living presence. Overnight stay at Digboi.
After leisurely breakfast we will reach the Digboi Oil Field which is not just an Oil Field but an Oil Museum and a wild life sanctuary dotted with numerous green hills. The worlds oldest operating Oil Machinery of Digboi is still producing in excess of its capacity and hence the name of Digboi is the "Oil City of Assam". In the evening you have your own trip down the meandering roads. Overnight stay in the Bunglow.
Return to Dibrugarh to take your onward flight.
